Integrating sexual health in educational curricula
A research project in Jordan develops a national action plan for integrating sexual and reproductive health concepts in educational curricula, using the deliberative dialogue.
The implementation of the project is managed by the Nursing College of the University of Jordan, in partnership with the Share-Net Jordan and the Higher Population Council of Jordan. The project aims to open a dialogue with national agencies and education experts in Jordan to develop a realistic action plan for integrating sexual and reproductive health concepts in academic curricula that is culturally-sensitive and based on to-be-identified national priorities.
This project is funded by Share Net International to support the updating of the national strategy for sexual and reproductive health, since integrating these topics and concepts in the Jordanian University-level curricula is a key pillar of the Strategy.
The Dutch NGO Rutgers, who attended the first meeting that was held during the period 27-29 November 2018, provided technical support and facilitated the workshop on how to develop sexual and reproductive health education curriculum.
Share-Net Jordan in cooperation with The Faculty of Nursing at the University of Jordan organized a round table on February 19, 2019 attended by 20 participants from relevant stakeholders at the end of project, to present the results of the workshop of implementing the methodology conducted (27-29) November 2018 and a road map for the development of a national action plan.
